Harmony and Horses – Equine Assisted Learning Sessions

What should I wear?

Please wear closed-toed shoes with socks, such as sneakers or boots. For your safety and comfort, Crocs, sandals, ballet flats, or open-toed shoes are not allowed. Wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty—we’ll be spending time around horses and outdoors!

What should I bring?

Bring what you need to be comfortable based on the weather. Suggestions include:

  • Hat or cap

  • Sunglasses

  • Sunscreen

  • Jacket or sweatshirt

  • Refillable water bottle

What is the cancellation policy?

When you book a session with Harmony and Horses, that time is reserved just for you.

  • Please give at least 12 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.

  • Late cancellations (less than 12 hours) or missed appointments will be charged the full session fee.
    We appreciate your understanding as this helps us serve the community more effectively.

Is there horseback riding involved?

Most sessions are ground-based, focusing on relationship building, communication, and nervous system regulation through interaction with the horses. Riding may be included at the instructor’s discretion, depending on the goals and readiness of the participant.

What if I’m nervous around horses or have never been around them?

That’s okay! Harmony and Horses is designed to support people of all comfort levels. You’ll be guided gently and safely, with the opportunity to build confidence and connection at your own pace.

What is your safety policy?

Safety is a top priority—for both participants and the horses. All individuals must be able to follow instructions and maintain appropriate behavior around the animals. Anyone who is unable to do so may be asked to reschedule or leave the session for their safety and that of others.

Can parents or guardians stay during a child’s session?

Yes, in most cases, a parent or guardian is welcome to stay nearby during the session. We may ask for space depending on the participant’s needs and goals.

Do you work with children or adults with special needs or anxiety?

Yes! Harmony and Horses specializes in nervous system regulation for both kids and adults, including those with autism, disabilities, neurodivergence, and special needs. Sessions are customized to each participant’s needs and we are more than happy to provide any needed accommodations to ensure safe and comfortable participation.

How long are sessions?

Session lengths vary depending on the type of program, but typically last 45–60 minutes. Specific times will be confirmed when booking.
