🐴 SESSION EXPERIENCE
-
Each session is unique and often guided by your child’s interests in the moment.
Activities may include grooming and connecting with horses, interacting with other farm animals, exploring the property, engaging in hands-on or sensory-based activities, and practicing communication or problem-solving through real-life experiences.
Rather than following a strict plan, we support learning and growth as natural moments arise. This allows children to feel more engaged, regulated, and connected throughout the session.
-
Sessions are thoughtfully guided, but often child-led.
We follow each participant’s interests and pace, which allows for more meaningful engagement and authentic learning. This approach is especially supportive for neurodivergent children, including those with autism, ADHD, or PDA.
-
Horses are at the heart of our work, but sessions may also include interaction with other farm animals such as goats, pigs, chickens, and more.
The full farm environment is part of the experience and offers additional opportunities for connection, regulation, and exploration.
-
Harmony and Horses offers equine assisted learning and wellness experiences. We are not a therapy clinic or a riding lesson program.
While sessions can be highly supportive for emotional growth, regulation, and confidence, they are experiential and relationship-based rather than clinical or performance-focused.

-
Yes, in most cases, a parent or guardian is welcome to stay nearby.
Depending on the participant’s needs and goals, we may occasionally ask for space to support independence and connection.
-
That’s completely okay.
You will be guided gently and safely, with the opportunity to build comfort and confidence at your own pace. No prior experience is needed.
-
Safety is a top priority for both participants and the horses.
All individuals are expected to follow basic safety guidelines and respectful behavior around the animals. If safety becomes a concern, we may pause, modify, or end the session as needed.
🌿HORSE MEDICINE & ADULT SESSIONS
-
Horse Medicine sessions are experiential, ground-based wellness experiences guided by interaction with horses.
Horses are highly intuitive and responsive to human energy and emotion. Through guided activities, reflection, and presence with the herd, participants often gain insight, clarity, and a deeper sense of connection to themselves.
Each session is unique and unfolds based on your intentions, experiences, and the natural responses of the horses.
-
No prior horse experience is needed.
You will be guided every step of the way in a safe and supportive environment. Sessions are designed for all comfort levels, including those who may feel nervous or unsure around horses.
-
That is completely okay.
Horse Medicine sessions can be experienced in many ways. Some people connect with the reflective and emotional aspects, while others simply enjoy the calming, grounding presence of the horses and the natural environment.
There is no right or wrong way to experience a session. You are welcome to engage in a way that feels comfortable and meaningful to you.
-
Sessions may include a combination of guided interaction with horses, quiet observation, movement-based experiences, meditation, or reflective activities.
Depending on the type of session you choose, you may participate in hands-on connection, a guided meditation or sound bath, or experiential activities designed to support insight and clarity.
All experiences are ground-based and unfold at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
-
Horse Medicine sessions are wellness experiences and are not therapy or mental health treatment.
While many people find them deeply supportive for emotional awareness, stress reduction, and personal growth, they are not a substitute for licensed therapy or medical care.
-
Yes, often.
Horses are free-moving and may choose to approach, observe, or engage with you during your session. These interactions are part of the experience and can offer meaningful moments of connection and reflection.
All interactions are guided with safety and respect for both you and the horses.
-
Wear comfortable clothing suitable for being outdoors and around animals.
If you are participating in a meditation or sound bath, we recommend wearing layers for comfort and bringing anything that helps you feel relaxed.
Closed-toed shoes are still required.
